In #Syria there is time for Salah, even though you risk your life doing it. In the West, some Muslims don’t bother, even though they have plenty of time to do it.

Palestinian refugee challenges the assumption that Israel is the only country in the region that has either restricted the rights of or discriminated against Palestinians. The situation of Palestinians in Israel’s neighbors has been just as bad as many Palestinians say it is in the West Bank,

In India, a snake protects two pups for 48 hours after they accidentally fall into a hole. At first it was thought that she wanted to attack them, but then noticed she was caring for the puppies. When rescued, the snake was released into a forest.
It is impossible not to share it with you.
The Israeli occupation army has held exercises inside the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.
Muslim worshippers were forced out of the mosque on Thursday as the troops moved in.
Tayseer Abu Sneineh, the Director of Religious Endowments in Hebron, said that worshippers were excluded from the mosque for several hours while the unidentified exercises took place.
He added that the mosque officials were prevented by the soldiers from making the midday call to prayer.
EGYPT
Egyptian officials and political leaders across the spectrum should condemn and take immediate steps to address the horrific levels of sexual violence against women in Tahrir Square. Egyptian anti-sexual harassment groups confirmed that mobs sexually assaulted and in some cases raped at least 91 women in Tahrir Square, over four days of protests beginning on June 30, 2013, amid a climate of impunity.
The Egyptian group Operation Anti-Sexual Harassment/Assault, which runs a hotline for victims of sexual assault and seeks to intervene to stop attacks, has received scores of reports of attacks on women in Tahrir Square over the past three days. The group confirmed 46 attacks on June 30, 17 on July 1, and 23 on July 2. The group’s volunteers intervened to protect and evacuate women in 31 cases of sexual assault. Four of the women needed medical assistance, including two who were evacuated by ambulance. The women’s rights group Nazra for Feminist Studies had confirmed another five attacks on June 28.
One woman required surgery after being raped with a “sharp object,” volunteers with the group said. In other cases, women were beaten with metal chains, sticks, and chairs, and attacked with knives. In some cases they were assaulted for as long as 45 minutes before they were able to escape.
The Egyptian government’s response has typically been to downplay the extent of the problem or to seek to address it through legislative reform alone. What is needed are concerted efforts to improve law enforcement’s practice in protecting victims and effectively investigating and prosecuting the attackers, as well as a comprehensive national strategy on the part of the government.
Since November 2011, police have stayed away from Tahrir Square during bigger protests, to avoid clashes with protesters. This has left women protesters unprotected, and the men involved in the gang attacks and rapes secure in the knowledge that they will not be arrested or identified by police.
Women’s rights groups reported at least 19 cases of mob sexual assaults in Tahrir square in January, including six women who required urgent medical assistance, as well as 10 in November 2012, and 7 in June 2012. In January, one of the cases reported to the anti-sexual harassment group was a woman who was raped with a bladed weapon that cut her genitals.
There is little awareness of or respect for the privacy of victims or how to appropriately deal with their trauma on the part of state medical officials, the media, and political parties like the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party. On July 1, the party’s website, and the July 2 print version of the party’s paper, violated the privacy of one victim, identifying her by name and nationality. The report cited a “Ministry of Health representative” as the source of this information.
Human Rights Watch is aware of cases in which police officers and hospital officials have shared information with the media about the identity of victims without their consent, a violation of their right to privacy and in some cases a security risk for the victims.
Based on survivor and witness accounts, it appears that the attacks have tended to follow similar patterns. Typically a handful of young men at demonstrations single out a woman and encircle her, separating her from her friends. During the attacks – which have lasted from a few minutes to more than an hour – the number of attackers increases and they grope the woman’s body and try to remove her clothing. The attackers often drag the woman to a different location while continuing to attack her.
In some cases, the attackers have assaulted other women and activists with sticks and knives for trying to rescue the victims. Survivors and witnesses told Human Rights Watch that some of the men claiming to help the women during the attacks were in fact taking part, further disorienting victims, who could not assess who was in fact assisting them.

Nablus is praised for its mouth-watering cuisine, and specifically, it’s pegged as home to the best knafeh in the world. In 2009, Nablus set the Guinness record for the world’s largest knafeh, weighing in at 1,350 kg. So we couldn’t leave without grabbing a bite of the popular Middle Eastern pastry.
We stopped by Abu Zanat, a small pastry restaurant hidden in a cozy, cave-like nook. Made from flaky filo dough mixed with syrup and orange blossom water, the sweet, cheese-filled treat had a crispy crust topped with pine nuts, contrasting the soft, cheesy center. To say the knafeh was heavenly would be an understatement. By far the best I’ve ever had.
At the restaurant, we met a couple from Sweden that told us they were visiting Nablus to experience the Middle Eastern and culinary culture. I learned that people are willing to travel countless miles to taste the world-best, authentic dessert. We drove more than an hour and a half from Beit Hanina to experience it, and I’m so glad we did.

Qatayef is an Arab dessert commonly served during the month of Ramadan, a sort of sweet dumpling filled with cream or nuts.
Qatayef was traditionally prepared by street vendors as well as households in the Levant (Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria) and Egypt. It’s usually prepared using Akawi cheese as a filling, a white brine cheese, native to Palestine. It is named after the city of Acre, where it first originated, the Arabic akkawi meaning “from akka”
Qatayef is the general name of the dessert as a whole, but more specifically, the batter. The result of the batter being poured into a round hot plate appears similar to pancakes, except only one side is cooked, then folded. The pastry is filled with either unsalted cheese or a mixture of any of hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, raisins, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. It is then deep-fried or, less commonly, baked and served with a hot syrup or sometimes honey

Now your friend is no longer near you.. but the Adhan is still there, reminding you with his memory!
Did you travel abroad?.. are you feeling lonely away from your beloved ones?.. wait.. the Adhan is calling… now you'll find your shelter! Just get in, and enjoy sitting inside Allah's house, among your Muslim brothers and get to know new friends when you shake hands with the one next to you after you both have finished!
How is prayer? It has been always the thermometer of your relation with your Creator.. remember last time when you felt so close?, when you were concentrating with all your emotions and body organs?.. slowly and peacefully you make your next movement, did you feel harmony then? You miss that when you make something that interrupts your relation with Allah.. Oh we do miss a lot!

Ahmad Batebi joined other students from the University of Tehran in a mass protest against the government on July 12, 1999. When a fellow protestor was shot, Batebi used the man’s shirt to treat his wounds, then held the shirt above his own head. That image, above, made the cover of The Economist, drawing the attention of authorities. Batebi was imprisoned by the Iranian government where he said he was tortured for years before his escape to the U.S. in 2008 where he was granted asylum. Batebi eventually became a human rights activist and was hired by Voice of America.
