A Palestinian worker holds a pot made out of kneaded mud in one of the largest pottery workshops in the Gaza Strip, where pottery is a traditional industry, on May 28, 2013. According to reports, over 50 pottery workshops in Gaza have closed over the past few years. This decline in production is due to the availability of cheaper, plastic containers, as well as to the ongoing Israeli economic sanctions on the Gaza Strip.
