Al-Aqsa Mosque - While meandering through the Old City of Jerusalem today, I couldn’t help but marvel at the third holiest site in Islam — Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (Al-Aqsa Mosque).

The mosque, which is more than 1,000 years old, is so sacred to Muslims because it’s home to the Dome of the Rock, which commemorates when Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.) was transported from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca to Al-Aqsa during the Night Journey.

It was difficult to not gaze in awe as I engulfed myself in the mosque’s rich history and absolutely magnificent architecture (both inside and outside — as you can see, I couldn’t choose just one photo from today to post)!
